1810 Indenture from Henry Brockmeir to Hugh Linn

This Indenture made the fifteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten [1810] between Henry Brockmeir of Fannet Township, Franklin County and State of Pennsylvania and Rosanah his Wife of the one part and Hugh Linn [Jr?] of the state and County aforesaid on the other part.
Whereas John Coulter of the Township aforesaid obtained a warrant out of the [State?] office of the late [Province?] (now State of Pennsylvania [bearing?] date Philadelphia on [???] of December one thousand seven hundred sixty two [1762] [where...?] was Surveyed to him a [parcel?] of Land in said Township contributing two hundred forty nine acres and [???] of six for [???] for [???] adjoining lands of [Aiden?] Coulter and others, in which land said John Coulter [conveyed?] to John [Bayston/Daysten?], Samuel [Walton?] and [George?] [Morgan?] by [deed?] [bearing] date the twenty first of May one thousand seven hundred and sixty four and was [conveyed?] by the said [Bayston, Walton and Morgan?] to [Richard Dave?] and [Richard Dave, Jr?] by deed dated the seventh of November one thousand seven hundred and sixty six [1766] and was conveyed by the said Richard Dave and Richard Dave Jr to Robert [McKnight?] by deed dated the first day of March one thousand seven hundred and ninety four [1794] [???] and said Conveyances [???] [proven] [will?] [more?] [and?] fully and at large [appear?].
And whereas the said Robert McKnight hath [since?] [died?] [having] [office?] [???] [by?] [???] [???] in [wanting?] bearing date December the fourteenth one thousand seven hundred and ninety five [1795] [???] [???] [Herein?] [appointed?] John [H?] McKnight his acting Executor allowing him with the advice of Richard [Dave?] and [cousin?] of Margaret McKnight to [???] and convey [the/His] said [???] of land ({???] alia) as in [???] [???] [???] [???] in the [Registers?] Office for recording of [???] [the?] County of [Montgomery?] the fourth of March one thousand seven hundred and ninety [more?] and at large [appears?] and [was?] Conveyed to the said John Campbell by the said John [H?] McKnight by deed bearing date November the tenth one thousand eight hundred and four [1804] and was conveyed by the said John Campbell and wife to James Campbell bearing date the fourteenth November one thousand eight hundred and four [1804] and was conveyed by the said James Campbell and Wife to the said Henry Brockmeir bearing the date the twenty first day of June one thousand eight hundred and five [1805].
Now this Indenture [???] that the said Henry Brockman and Rosanah his wife for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred fifteen dollars Pennsylvania currency [to?] them in hand or secured to be paid, Have granted, bargained, Sold, released-and-[???] and by these [p...s?} do [grant?] [bargain?] sell-[???] and confirm unto the said Hugh Linn Jr, His Heirs, or [???] a [Mefsage?] or [lot?] of Land bounded by Lands [of?] Alex Wilson, James Widney, [Matthew?] [Kyle and James Campbell. - 12/?/1762: John Goulter obtained a warrant from the Province (in Colonial times, pre-statehood) for 249 acres. Neighbors included someone named Aiden (sp?) Coulter.
- 5/1/1764: John Coulter sold the land to three men: John B/D, Samuel W, and George Morgan
- 11/7/1766: John B/D, Samuel W, and George Morgan sold the land to Richard [Dave?] and Richard [Dave Jr?]
- 3/1/1794: Richard [Dave?] and Richard [Dave Jr?] sold it to Robert [McKnight?]
- 12/14/1795: Robert McKnight died. His executor, John McKnight
- 11/10/1804: John McKnight sold the land to John Campbell
- 11/14/1804: John Campbell and wife sold the land to James Campbell
- 6/21/1805: James Campbell and wife sold the land to Henry Brockmeier
- 9/15/1810: Henry Brockmeir sold the land to Hugh Linn, Jr.
Which Hugh?[edit]
There is no evidence of who this Hugh Linn is. But it may be reasonable to assume it is the same Hugh Linn II in Concord, Franklin, PA who purchased land earlier in 1810, as recorded in 1810 Indenture from Alex Wilson to Hugh Linn
