Early Life
John (III)'s father John Chilcote II died when John (III) was young, and thereafter John (III) was raised by his uncle James.[8]
Family
The 1790 Maryland Census contains two individuals who appear to be John's children[9]:
- Joshua Chilcoat (Baltimore County household consisting of one male (himself) and 2 females)
- James Chilcote (Frederick County household consisting of one male (himself) and 1 female)
Neither household is listed as having any slaves.
Historical Records
- A "Robison Chilcot," possibly John's son Robinson, is listed in Pennsylvania in 1780.
- A "Joshua Chilcoat," possibly John's son, appears in the 1790 Census for Baltimore, MD
