I am writing to request a copy of naturalization papers for a Hugh William Linn (b. 1818, Ireland; married to Mary Chadwick in Ireland in 1840; immigrated to Philadelhpia in 1842-1844; declared his intent to naturalize on September 7, 1847, in the Quarter Sessions court. - Figuring out what other documents may exist in Pennsylvania about the Linns.
- I got a few pages of Wills from the Mercer County courthouse (see James Linn), but they unfortunately didn't have any original signatures or new information on them
- Give the Franklin County Archives a call (717-709-7218) to ask about their services. It's only a 4 hr drive to get there. Possible to do on a saturday? (might have death certificates, wills, deeds from Hugh/Sarah.)
- I'd eventually like to get to NARA to see if they have any interesting records we haven't come across.
- Would they have passenger lists for Hugh Linn's ship?
- Continue on Researching Eighteenth Century Pennsylvania and apply it to Robert Walker III, who I'm confident we can find some historical records of (versus just oral history)
