Well, as far as I know everybody named Schlor comes from the little village (900 German-Austrian inhabitants in 1945) Groß Steurowitz, located in Southern Moravia, 20 miles near the metropole of Moravia called Brünn, in Czech language "Brno", stae Czech Republic. I am a historian and I can state, that we assume that the "Schlors" settled since the 13th century there, the came from Lower Bavaria, as theirGerman dialect sounds like from there. I really guess that all named Schlor came one day from that village, first moved to Vienna and all over Europe and even to the US, but the most people stayed at Groß Steurowitz, during some period also named without "Groß" (Greater) Steurowitz only. The most people at the village were named Schlor, (52 families with that name) secondmost Name was "Siegl" or "Sigl", 32 families with that name, thiredmost name was Dollansky, 26 families with that name.
