Family

Sarah was the daughter of George Boone and Mary Maugeridge. She was born February 18, 1690/91 in Exeter Devonshire, Bradninch, England. With her many siblings, she preceded her parents to America.[3]

Sarah Boone's great grandfather was a blacksmith. Her grandfather was a weaver. Her father was both, and farmed. She came with father and brother to explore before the emigration of the whole family (1717 to what is now Burks Co, then still Philadelpia Co PA) from England.[4]

As of 1980 research her ship had not been identified, so settlement credited 1704-1712 in Wahlink or Oley Philadelphia (now Berks) Co PA, settlement of Quakers, Palatines and Huguenots (i would say 1710-1714, George was still having children in England 1711 and Sarah was married in Philly 1715).[5]

She did not affiliate with the Quaker community as no mention of her is made in the records.[6]

Mary Edith Marley in Wilkes Vol. 29, No. 3 p18 states "The Boone family came from Bradnich, near Exeter, England where they were members of the Collumpton Society of Friends."[7]
