  • apprenticed with a Parisian perfumer, then returned to Nantes, where married Clementine Villemin, daughter of a watchmaker
  • succeeded his father as head of the company, producing of soap, including soap and cosmetics including a well-known at the time product, Frizoléine, and the fragrance, Stella Violetta
