"Moshe Rabinovitch was born in 1887 in Baku, capitol of Azerbaijan, Republic in Caucasia.  It was an independent country until the Russians conquered it after WW1, when it then became a Province.  No info as to when he made the migration to Vilnius.  However, Vilnius itself fell under Polish sovereigny in 1918, when it was referred to as 'Wilno.'  Perhaps this explains the absence of any marriage records.  Grandpa Moshe died on April 15, 1935, and is buried in the Jewish cemetery of Vilnius.  The monuments are inscribed in Hebrew."<ref>Lea Rabinovich's papers in Brooklyn apartment; via Jacob Rosenstein and Morris Rosenstein</ref>
