Gilmore City Obituary

Edith Lucille Nelson, the daughter of Clarence and Gertie (Thompson) Nelson, was born February 25, 1912, in Goldfield, IA (Evergreen Community). She was raised and received her education in Goldfield, graduating from Goldfield High School in 1932. On June 1, 1932 she was united in marriage to Dr. Hugh Linn in Goldfield. After their marriage, the couple lived in Gilmore City their entire married lives. Edith loved collecting sheet music and playing the piano and clarinet. She played the piano for silent films in Goldfield. She also enjoyed working in her yard and garden.

Survivors include sons; Hugh and his wife, Joanna of San Francisco, CA, Harry and his wife Elaine of Gilmore City, Bruce and his companion, Elberta of Concord, CA, Thomas of Gilmore City, and Richard and his wife, Barbara of Ozark, MO, 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a brother, Bernard Nelson of Long Beach, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh in 1971, brothers; Jacob, Charles and Robert and a sister, Genevieve. She was a member of the Faith Methodist Church in Gilmore City.[5]
