Silas Bennett[edit]
The 1790 Franklin, Delaware County, New York Census contains no Burnetts. The closest match are some Bennetts:

In the 1800 Franklin, Delaware County, New York Census references one of the Bennetts as a Burnitt, which is a much closer match:

- Silas appears in a 1798 jury list
- Silas transacted real estate deeds just after 1800
- Silas does not appear in the 1810 Delaware County census
My take:
- Silas appears the right age to be Mary Sarah Burnett's father, but nothing suggests he is a Native American.
Samuel Burnett[edit]
"Recollections of an Old Settler" references a Burnett in Hudson, Ohio around 1800:
- "Samuel Burnett came here from Warren, Trumbull county, in the spring of 1806, and commenced chopping and clearing land on lot 65, where John Reed now lives."[1]
