Jill Lindstrom's Memory of the Hoppe's
I do remember my Grandma and Grandpa Hoppe very well. They were both alive until I was in Jr. High (grandpa died) and High School (Grandma died) ( or around then). The were a big part of my life. Went there for most holidays (except for Memorial Day was ALWAYS the Linn side) and they came to see us quite often too. I went to stay a week every summer with them in Correctionville and loved it. (Caught frogs, played with the chickens, picked raspberries, stayed int their upstairs....and played with my cousin, Jane.) It was great fun! My Grandma was a wonderful seamstress and she helped sew a couple of dresses for Homecoming and proms. My Grandpa was quite a teaser.....always teasing and playing with us kids. They always went to Phoenix, Az every winter because my Grandpa had bad emphysema.[4]
