Linn Family
Knowledge of the Linns and their descendants come principally from two sources: Clan Linn and Clan Linn in the Twentieth Century. The former was published by Dr. George Wilds Linn in 1905 and cataloged Linn descendants up to 1905. In 1993, Roger Linn published Clan Linn in the Twentieth Century, updating the 1905 book through the twentieth century, with particular focus on Roger's line of the family (the descendants of Frank Linn and Libbie Walker).
Through these sources we know that the Linn family traces its American roots to Hugh Linn and Sarah Widney, who immigrated in 1788 from County Down, Northern Ireland to Concord, Pennsylvania.
