- mayor of Nantes from 1899 to 1908
- apprenticed with a Parisian perfumer, then returned to Nantes, where married Clementine Villemin, daughter of a watchmaker
- succeeded his father as head of the company, producing of soap, including soap and cosmetics including a well-known at the time product, Frizoléine, and the fragrance, Stella Violetta
- in 1881 he handed over the management of the company to his brother and then turns to politics and journalism
- elected Mayor of Nantes on May 7, 1899, reelected in 1900 and 1904
Paul Emile was named to the Legion of Honor in 1901.[5]
