Chester Henry Cressie Elizabeth, or Cerisie L. Robinson[5] |
- Born Nora Ethel Henry[6]
- peggy's mother's full name is Nora Ethel Henry (Nora Ethel went by "Ethel")[7]
- There may be a different spelling of her name[8]
- She was born in Monterey, TN.[9]
- Ethel and William are buried in Oklahoma City, OK[10]
- Conflict: The Parkview Cemetery in Phelps County, NE claims that Nora Ethel is buried next to Wilson Burnette Bass, Jr. in the Parkview Cemetery.
- Ethel had a sister named Dorothy who lived in Reno Nevada[11]
Mother: Cressie Elizabeth, or Cerisie L. Robinson, or?
- Peggy: mom's mom was always called Cressie Elizabeth but my research has the spelling Cerisie L. Robinson. I am not sure the spelling is right for the last name[12]
Father: Chester (A?) Henry
- Ethel's father was Chester Henry [13]
- Nora comes from Indian stock (probably her grandfather)[14]
- Chester died when Peggy was a baby. He is buried in Monterey, TN.[15]
- Chester's middle initial may be "A".[16]
- The book "Trail of Tears" tells how some of the Cherokee were driven out of Tenn. From what I have found there are 7 clans of Cherokee and I am not sure yet which clan would refer to our relatives.[17]
- The Cherokee family would have moved from Arkansas to Oklahoma, courtesy the US government[18]
Historical Records
- Ethel is in Chester's household in the 1920 Oklahoma census, in Pontotoc, Chickasaw County.
