Peter Olson and his family moved from Sweden to the US in 1861, settling briefly in Minnesota and then moving to Nebraska. Several of Peter Olson's descendants (son John Olson; grandson Frank Samual Olson) later moved from Nebraska to Richvale, California.

Peter (age 72) lives with son Olie (Olof) in Holdrege, Nebraska in the 1900 Federal Census. Peter has been widowed at this point. The record states he immigrated in 1861.
