Passed to His Reward

William Woodruff, aged 81 years passed peacefully to his reward yesterday morning, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. P.F. [Mary] Brockway in Ridgway [Colorado].  He had lived a long and useful life and enjoyed the friendship and high esteem of all with whom he came in contact.  Death was due to heart failure and , when summoned he was ready to go.  By his pure and upright life the grave was robbed of its terrors and death its sting, a smile of sweet peace being expressed in his feature after he had closed his eyes in death.

Five children survive him, of whom two, C. T. [Comely] Woodruff and Mrs. P. F. Brockway live at Ridgway.  With them he came to spend the remainder of his days about 3 years ago coming direct from the old home in Iowa.  The funeral services will take place today and interment will be in Dallas Park Cemetery.  [No stone was found in 2008.]
