George's early years and migration to America are unknown, but it is recorded that he bought a tract of Baltimore County land on April 1, 1751.

Last Will and Testament

In the name of God Amen I George Ensor, being weak in body but of sound memory make this my last will and testament. First I give and bequeath to Almighty God my soul and my worldly estate in manner as follows.

I give and bequeath to my Beloved wife Elisabeth Ensor, a negro boy named Tom and two mullato boys with a young black mare, and the thirds of all I enjoy now I give and bequeath to my son Darby Ensor, a tract of land called the Vinyard.

I give and bequeath to my son Nathan Ensor half that tract called Jamessay's Prospects.

I give and bequeath to my daughter Elisabeth Chilcoate one Nego boy called Sam and a cow and a colt and a bed.

I give and bequeath to my daughter Prudence, a negro boy called Jacob and a cow and calf and a colt and

I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Ensor, a negro girl called Hannah and a cow and a calf and a colt and

I give and bequeath to my daughter Onour Ensor, a negro boy called Harculus and a cow and calf and a horse and saddle and

I give to my daughter Rachel Griffin one English shilling and no more but her son to have the first childe that Negro Hannah has;

And I ordain my Beloved wife Elizabeth Ensor and my son Goerge Ensor sole Executors of this my will to take care and see it performed, according to my true intent and meaning whareunto I have set my hand the Day and Year above writing where unto I have set my hand.

Slave Ownership

Slave ownership seems to have been continued by George's descendants. 20 years after George's death, in the 1790 census, George (son) has 2 slaves, Elizabeth (wife) has 8, although Darby is listed as having none.

• Either George or his son George Ensor (1740) owned a tract of land called Batchelor’s Choice.

Misc.

• This family tree claims, without sources, to trace the Ensor line back to 1475.
• A number of Chilcoats and Ensors who died in the 1800s are buried in Bosley United Methodist Church's Cemetery. It doesn't appear that George or his son are there, but his grandchildren and so on may be.
