...became a farmer in Tuscarora Valley of Fulton County, Pennsylvania. Simon, Clarissa, and their four young sons left Pennsylvania in 1862, traveling first to Illinois, then to Lucas County, Iowa. Simon and his brother, Henry (h116), farmed briefly in Iowa, but Simon soon moved to northeast Kansas. There they settled on the SW 1/4 of Section 2, Sibley Township, Cloud County, Kansas near the small coal mining community of Minersville.
