			* The book [http://www.archive.org/stream/familyrecordsorg00litt#page/n7/mode/2up Family records, or, Genealogies of the first settlers of Passaic Valley]] mentions nine William Woodruffs
			* In the 1860 census they lived in Johnson Co. Iowa with Mary, Leonora, Warren W., Sarah E., Comley, and John W. John W. Steel, son of a neighbor lived with them and is listed as a farm laborer.
			* In the 1870 census, William was living in Johnson Co. Iowa with Huldah (second wife) and Warren W. Two of William's children, John and Leonora were living nearby with John W. Steel and his wife Jane, who was Hannah Morris's sister--aunt of the children. Apparently John W. and Jane had no children of their own.
			* In 1880 William lived with his daughter Leonora (Nora) and her husband Joseph Luckey and family in Washington Co. Iowa--just south of Johnson Co.
