<blockquote><p>Alan Loyd ("Phred") was born on 21 December 1960, on his father's twenty-seventh birthday.  Phred graduated from Iowa State University at Ames, with a degree in aerospace engineering.  He built an ultrlight aircraft from a kit, and used it do aerial crap spaying.  Phred married Jayne Elizabeth Hardy on 28 June 1986, following her graduation from the General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan with a degree in electrical engineering.
